Pontiac's Rotary Park stands on the original site of the O.J. Beaudette Company factory at Walnut and Wesson Street. Beaudette Park was named for O. J. Beaudette, a prominent businessman and manufacturer in the early auto industry. Oliver J. Beaudette started the O.J. Beaudette Company in 1890, and by the turn of the century the company was one of Pontiac's largest carriage body manufacturers. From 1910 to 1922, O.J. Beaudette supplied Ford with over 2,000,000 bodies. In 1922, the O. J. Beaudette Manufacturing Company was sold to Fisher Body Company, which became part of General Motors Corporation in 1926. The Oliver Leo Beaudette home at 269 Huron in Pontiac stood across from Pontiac Central High; Oliver Leo Beaudette was the son of O.J. Beaudette, founder of Beaudette Manufacturing Company.
