St. Paul Presbyterian Church Lowland was founded in 1804, with the original church on Flat Creek. The present structure was built in 1857 under the supervision of Col. Joseph Hamilton. Rooms were added in the basement in 1946 and major interior renovations were made in 1969. The exterior remains much the same as when it was built, and the church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
