Mount Vernon Iron Furnace was built by Isaac Meason in 1798 and rebuilt in 1801. It was a cold blast charcoal furnace, employed 60 men, and was blown out in 1830. The heirs of Jesse S. & Bertha M. Eutsey deeded it in 2002 in Bullskin Twp. as a National Reg. Historical Site.
