Pleasant Valley Veterans War Memorial honors the men and women of the town who served to preserve freedom and democracy in World War I from April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; in World War II from December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946; in the Korean War from June 25, 1950, to January 31, 1955; in the Vietnam War from February 28, 1961, to May 7, 1975; in Lebanon / Grenada from August 24, 1982, to July 31, 1984; in Operation Just Cause in Panama from December 20, 1989, to January 31, 1990; in Operation Desert Shield / Storm beginning August 2, 1990; in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan beginning October 14, 2001; and in Operation Iraqi Freedom beginning March 20, 2003, and it lists those from the town who served in each conflict, including those killed in action.
