Lake Claiborne State Park in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, opened in 1974 as a public recreation area on the shore of the man-made Lake Claiborne, a 6,400-acre reservoir formed by damming Bayou D'Arbonne. Covering 643 acres about 7 miles southeast of Homer, the park is centered on lake access, with a boat launch, rentals, and a large swimming beach supporting fishing, boating, and shoreline use. It also offers overnight accommodations through cabins and campsites, along with a Nature Center and interpretive programs. Designed by architect Hugh G. Parker Jr., the park combines outdoor recreation, environmental learning, and developed amenities in a rural setting.
