Herrington Manor State Park is a 365-acre public recreation area in Garrett County, Maryland, about four miles north of Oakland beside Swallow Falls State Park. Centered on 53-acre Herrington Lake and surrounding woods, it takes its name from a manor house built in the mid-1800s by real estate investor Abijah Herrington. Maryland acquired the property in 1935 during state forest development, and the Civilian Conservation Corps later dammed Herrington Creek to form the lake. After the manor house was demolished in 1964, the park was formally established. It now offers swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and rental cabins.
