The Bell AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter capable of land- or sea-based operations. Its primary missions are close air support, air-to-air combat, convoy escort, and armed and visual reconnaissance during both day and night operations. Developed for use in Vietnam, it remains in service with the U.S. Marines and several foreign nations. Its features include one engine, a chin-mounted M-197 three-barreled twenty-millimeter cannon, Hellfire ATGMs, eighteen-shot seventy-millimeter rocket pods, one hundred twenty-seven-millimeter Zuni rockets, cluster munition napalm, and AIM9 and Stinger IR.
