This wooden frame depot was typical of most small-town stations of its era. The depot and water tower were originally built in the 1880s and stood about 1/4 mile south. In 1941 the depot was torn down and moved, and because of shortages caused by World War II, the lumber and parts were recycled into the present structure. The railroad sold the depot in 1959, and it was then used for hay storage. In 1996 the John Thompson family donated it to the Heart of the Heartlands, after which it was moved back to the tracks, restored, and listed on the South Kansas Oklahoma Railroad timetable.
