Horsepen Mountain rises on the Appalachian Plateau in southern West Virginia along the border of Logan and Mingo counties. It is the highest point in Mingo County and is notable locally for both its elevation and its position on the county line. The mountain’s summit area is also the site of the Mingo Lookout Tower, a prominent feature that adds to its local significance.
