Iroquois Skeleton
History
2
In December of 1991, excavation of the elevator shaft for the new court annex uncovered a human skeleton. Archaeologists from Binghamton University removed the remains at the request of the Iroquois. On 1 July 1994, Paul Waterman, chief of the Turtle Clan, Onondaga Nation joined with county officials and archaeologists to rebury the remains at this spot. May they forever rest in peace.
