Diamond Springs I.O.O.F. No. 09 Lodge Hall is the oldest fraternal edifice in continuous use on the West Coast. It was built on this hillside rather than on the main street, unlike the usual practice for the era, and it escaped the fires that razed the town of Diamond Springs on several occasions. It honors the fraternal spirit of the ’49ers, who embodied the precepts of friendship, loyalty, and charity.
