The original building at this location was built in 1896 by J. Galloway and sold to M. L. Ross in 1900. After several attempts to correct the falling foundation, a new structure replaced the old in 1916. Ross sold half interest in his pool room to Henry Smith. Known as Smith & Ross Billiard Room until Mr. Ross' passing in 1934, the business then became Smith's Pool Room, the name it would be known by into the 1970s. Prints from the pool tables could be seen when owner Darren Mason began restoration in 2007.
