The Spokane Hills are a prominent group of foothills in Montana’s Big Belt Mountains, rising east of Helena to about 4,058 feet. Lying between the Helena Valley and Canyon Ferry Reservoir, they form a distinct stretch of higher ground along the mountain front. They are not a single summit but a set of hills that mark the transition from the valley near Helena into the larger Big Belt range. Their location gives them an important geographic place in the landscape, linking the settled valley with the mountains beyond and the reservoir beside them.
