Teacup Mountain was named for its peculiar formation and probably served as a lookout post for both whites and Indians in pioneer days. Near here, pioneer James Bradberry, Sr., was killed by Indians in 1872, and in 1878 Lieutenant N.O. Reynolds and four fellow Texas Rangers captured a wanted man.
