Nature
Mount Rose is a low ridge in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, forming a narrow part of the Rocky Hill Ridge and rising about 420 feet above sea level. A diabase intrusion, it is one of the hard rock ridges that stand out from the surrounding landscape, and unlike many ridges in New Jersey, it runs from northwest to southeast. Crusher Road follows the ridge, while a lower gap at the village of Mount Rose is marked by the junction of several local roads. Today, the area is known chiefly as a modest natural landmark and walking area, with trails including the Elks Trail, Ridge Trail, Forest Loop, and Cattail Trail.
