Located at the west end of Main St., this house was the home of Col. Atwood G. Hobson, a lawyer, banker, and Union officer, and was begun in 1860. During the Confederate occupation of Bowling Green in 1862, CSA Gen. Simon B. Buckner saved the house at the request of his friend, USA General W. E. Hobson, the owner's son. It was used as a munitions depot. After the war, Col. Hobson made it his home until his death in 1898.
