The Woman's Improvement Club building, a Craftsman Style structure based upon a Welsh church, was built in 1913. The all-volunteer organization was founded in 1899 to improve the community through numerous innovative service projects. Architect Thomas E. Preston designed the building, and R.P. Mussetter was the contractor.
