From about 1780 to the late 1800s, Milton Centre was home to early businesses including Gordon Grist Mill, Rugg Wheel Shop, Frink-Kellog Store, S. Rugg Tannery, and the Freelander Blacksmith Shop and Hotel, as well as the Thompson Law Office.
