Major General George P. Holm served in the United States Army from 1938 to 1971 with great distinction and fought in three wars: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After retirement, he worked tirelessly for veterans and his fellow citizens and was the driving force in creating the Utah State Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery, the Utah State Veterans Nursing Home, and this park, which honors those who served in the Second World War.
