At the entrance to LaSalette Seminary, formerly Attleboro Springs Sanatorium, a revered image of Mary has welcomed generations of brothers, priests, seminarians, pilgrims, and visitors and invited all to submit to Christ's gentle sway. On the night of November 4-5, 1999, it stood through the blaze that destroyed the cherished home after more than a century of haven and hospitality and rekindled in the hearts of Our Lady's Missionaries an unflinching dedication to the service of God's people. The fire also claimed the life of Carmelite Father Paul O'Brien of the United Kingdom, who was here on sabbatical.
