Lincoln School was established in 1880 to provide education for African-American children in the Canton area, and it served that purpose until 1955. One of a handful of red brick school houses of its kind, it remains as a tribute to rural education in this country. Plans to restore Lincoln School are currently under way, and information on the project is available at Canton City Hall.
