White Ibis, Green Heron, Tricolored Heron, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Great Egret, Little Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, and Great Blue Heron wade on long legs through shallow waters and along the water's edge in search of fish, frogs, insects, and other creatures. These birds use slightly different feeding techniques. Their long bills may be used as probes, spears, or even scissors, and a meal can be caught in an instant.
