Liston Range Rear Light is a wrought-iron lighthouse on the Delaware River and, at 120 feet, the tallest in Delaware. Built in 1876–1877 and first lit in 1877, it serves with the lower front light to guide mariners by alignment. Originally part of Liston’s Tree Range several miles east, it was moved after a new channel made the old site obsolete, with the re-established light first lit there in 1906. Its industrial skeletal iron design, wood-lined stair tower, and later electrification reflect changing navigation technology. Still operating, it remains a rare survivor of 19th-century iron lighthouse engineering.
