Merion Friends Meeting House was established by the Merioneth Welsh community that settled this area in 1682. Completed in 1714, it is important for its association with the earliest settlement of Welsh-speaking people in the new world and has been designated a National Historic Landmark for its national significance in the history of the United States of America.
