Boulder Mountain
Nature
Boulder Mountain, also known as Bluebell Knoll or Boulder Top, is a broad, high plateau mountain in south-central Utah forming half of the Aquarius Plateau west of Capitol Reef National Park. Known for steep outer slopes and a vast flat top of forest and meadows, it is described as the highest timbered plateau in North America. Snow limits access to its backcountry roads much of the year, but it has long shaped regional travel through routes linking Boulder and Escalante. The mountain is especially famous for fishing, while also supporting native cutthroat trout, large bull elk, other wildlife, and the rare Boulder Mountain cinquefoil.
