Services have been held continuously at Richwood Presbyterian Church since it was founded in 1834 by its first pastor, Joseph Cabell Harrison. In 1824, he and his cousin John Breckinridge founded an early religious paper in Kentucky. Harrison was a cousin of President William H. Harrison. His wife, Sophia Rice Harrison, was a granddaughter of David Rice, the father of the Presbyterian Church in Kentucky. The Harrisons are buried here.
