Hartman Mound, also known as George Connett Mounds Mound, is the largest mound on The Plains, standing 40 feet high and 140 feet in diameter. It has not been excavated and is therefore one of the few remaining mounds whose shape and size have not been altered. A second mound just south of Hartman Mound was 6 feet high and 40 feet in diameter. In its log crypt, Mr. Andrew discovered an almost complete skeleton, 500 rolled copper beads, 50 thick shells, and an unusual copper tubular blockended pipe with a flared mouthpiece.
