The Wright Schlosser House is a graceful two-story, double-galleried, three-bay side hall house designed in the Italianate style with Greek Revival components. Its three bays are framed within equally spaced columns on both the upper and lower galleries. The columns framing and supporting the façade are squared with Doric capitals, except for the two centered on the upper gallery, which are classic Corinthian with fluted shafts, a dramatic Italianate feature. It was built along with its next door twin in 1866-67 for William Wright, who was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1819, and his wife Susan West; the twin was built for Susan's sister, Mary Agatha West Norwood. The Wrights lived here until 1874. From 1874 to 1953, the house had six owners and was divided into apartments. In 1953, Martha Lindsay, wife of Dr. Joseph Schlosser, acquired the home and worked with local preservation architect Samuel Wilson, Jr., of Koch and Wilson Architects, to restore it as a single-family residence. The property was purchased in 1992 from the Schlossers by its later owners.
