Moores Hill College stood on this ground. Founded on January 10, 1854, it was administered by a board of trustees appointed by the Conference of the Methodist Church. After Moore Hall was destroyed in 1915, the college was moved to Evansville, Indiana. The combined histories of Moores Hill-Evansville College from 1854 to 1954 mark a century of cultural, religious, and educational progress.
