Enoch City Cemetery
History
17
This land was originally owned by Sylvester Jones, who donated a portion to the LDS Church for a cemetery. When Sylvester's son Henry died in World War I in 1918, the church asked Sylvester to pay $50 for a plot. He thought that was unfair and buried Henry just north on his own property. In time, others followed suit. Later, both properties were donated to Enoch City for the existing cemetery.
