Under the charge of Earl W. Ivey and Meece Ellis, this Bay City Walking Dredge worked 18 hours daily to construct the portion of the Tamiami Trail that began at Black Water River and extended northwesterly 10 miles to Belle Meade Crossing and adjoined this park in 1927-1928.
