Built in 1924 by Victor Wade, this building housed a print shop and the Batesville Record, which later became the Batesville Daily Guard. In the late 1940's, it became the city's first Sears store, and a variety of retail establishments followed. Its features include vernacular-panel brick, a raised brick parapet, and nine-over-one sash windows showing Craftsman influence.
