The route from New Franklin to Rocheport extends 9.90 miles eastward through tree- or bluff-lined stretches with views of agricultural land. Bonne Femme Creek at milepost 183.8 is the first bridge crossing for Katy travelers heading to Rocheport, and the Lewis and Clark Expedition camped at the old mouth of the creek on June 7, 1804; Capt. William Clark called it “Good Womans River,” and Capt. Meriwether Lewis and two men paddled partway up the Bonne Femme. The former site of Pearsons at milepost 184.5 offers a panorama of cropfields and the remains of an old tile grain elevator, the only one along the Katy. Davisdale Conservation Area at milepost 182.1 offers primitive camping, hiking, picnicking, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities, while Diana Bend Conservation Area beginning at milepost 180 gives visitors an opportunity to visit a wetland. At milepost 178.9 stands the only tunnel on the former Missouri, Kansas & Texas line, a picturesque cut-stone arched tunnel built in 1892-93 and 243 feet long; its blackened ceiling recalls trains that passed through from 1893 to 1986, its stonework is notable, and it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Just past the tunnel, around the bluff to the right, is the Diana Bend Conservation Area overlook. Before entering Rocheport, the route crosses Moniteau Creek.
