1
Carillon Park exists through the generosity of Col. and Mrs. Edward A. Deeds. Its carillon, built of granite, steel, and limestone, rises 151 feet and was a gift of Mrs. Deeds, dedicated August 23, 1942, after the carillon's completion. Col. Deeds also provided for the creation of a park museum with exhibits on Dayton and the development of transportation. The sixty-five acre park is administered by Education and Musical Arts, Incorporated, a subsidiary of the Dayton Foundation.
