Transportation
13
On 3 Rabia I, 1380 A.H. in the Mohammedan Calendar, a great black stone was dedicated on the pilgrimage to ‘Mucca. Brought by caravan from the sea at Crescent City, California, it marked the opening of a new trade route from Winnemucca to the sea and affirmed the friendship of the peoples along the route from Humboldt County, Nevada, through Lake, Klamath, Jackson and Josephine counties, Oregon, to Del Norte County, California. The people and officials of these counties dedicated it on September 24, 1960 A.D. in the Gregorian Calander.
