Mission Point, locally called Mission Peak, is a 2,771-foot spur of Oat Mountain in the eastern Santa Susana Mountains above Aliso Canyon between Porter Ranch and Granada Hills. As the second highest point in the range after Oat Mountain, it commands broad views over the San Fernando Valley that can reach the Pacific Ocean and Downtown Los Angeles in clear weather, helping make it a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. Trails approach from O'Melveny Park and Neon Way. Near the summit stands a monument to Mario A. DeCampos, M.D. Access changed in 2007 when gas company gates closed nearby areas, though the peak remained reachable by a new trail.
