The 443rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion served during World War II from 1942 to 1945, taking part in nine campaigns and three invasions in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, and Austria, and it also served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. A European Beech tree was planted in 1998 in honor of the 443 AAA Bn by George and Maryann Ator.
