Parsons Arboretum is a 19-acre arboretum and garden in Glenwood Park in Parsons, Kansas, near 21st Street and Briggs Avenue. Built on a former Parsons and Pacific Railroad yard, it transformed industrial land into cultivated public green space. Its development began after the city created the Parsons Tree Advisory Board in 1987, gained about 19 acres from Union Pacific Railroad in 1991, and developed the site in 1992. The Parsons Arboretum Foundation, Inc. followed in 1993. With features such as a daylily bed, wetlands, a gazebo, and a wildflower bed, the arboretum serves as both a horticultural setting and a community amenity.
