Henryetta’s war memorial centers on the American Doughboy, a representation of the American soldier of World War I shown charging over the top toward the enemy line with full field equipment. Erected by the people as a memorial to war veterans, it arrived in Henryetta on Monday, November 26, 1923. A memorial plate cast in 1991 bears the inscription, “To the memory of all of this area who paid the supreme sacrifice in all wars,” and records local dead from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam.
