Jones School, located northwest of Flandreau in Spring Creek Township section 19, was built in 1886 and was the last rural school in Moody County to close under the state consolidation plan that joined the Flandreau School District in 1972. The school was known as Walton School in 1894 and Spring Creek School in 1895. Graduates donated the building to the Moody County Historical Society for placement on museum grounds, with the interior left exactly as it had looked on the last day of classes.
