Frank Lloyd Wright's Gordon Strong Automobile Objective was an unbuilt 1925 design for Sugarloaf Mountain near Dickerson, Maryland, commissioned by businessman Gordon Strong as part of his long effort to turn the mountain into a recreation destination. Envisioned as a day-trip attraction for motorists, it combined scenic views with leisure spaces and evolved through several versions that included a restaurant, auditorium, parking, and finally a domed planetarium. Strong rejected the final plan as impractical and too disruptive to the summit, so it was never built. The project nevertheless became a turning point in Wright's career, introducing the spiral ramp form later developed in major works including the Guggenheim Museum.
