The Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon, Illinois, is a modest Queen Anne style house built in 1891 and remembered for its close association with Reagan’s early years. Ronald Reagan lived here with his family from late 1920 to 1923, when he was nine years old, sharing a bedroom with his brother while his mother used another room as a work space. The property’s significance lies chiefly in its connection to Reagan’s childhood in Dixon and to the small-town setting later central to his public image. Preserved through local efforts, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is now operated by Young America’s Foundation.
