In southwestern Ohio east of Cleves, this archaeological site centers on an isolated Native American mound set on a ridgeline. Its location has been taken as evidence that it was likely built by the Adena culture. Because the site has never been excavated, no artifacts have been recovered there. Archaeologists have nevertheless inferred from similar mound sites that the visible earthwork may be part of a broader area of archaeological interest. Its potential significance led to its addition to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
