Ida Yarn Mill was the second oldest textile manufacturing plant in Scotland County. Mark Morgan built it in 1882, and it was powered by water wheels. The mill was named in memory of Ida Malloy Morgan, the deceased infant daughter of Mark and Margaret Cameron Morgan, who lived from 1874 to 1876. It operated here until 1939.
