The Methodist Church was the first church to establish itself in Perryopolis. Before 1832, services were held in a school house and in the Old State Bank Building. In 1832, a place of worship was erected opposite the present Veterans of Foreign Wars building. The present structure was erected in 1888, and a parsonage was built soon after the church was dedicated.
