Iron Springs, later identified on maps as Mescal Springs, is a natural spring in the Whetstone Mountains of southeastern Arizona. Though remote, it became historically significant as the site of Wyatt Earp’s confrontation with William “Curly Bill” Brocius on March 24, 1882, during the episode known as the Earp Vendetta Ride. The clash ended with Brocius’ death and secured the spring’s lasting place in the history of frontier-era Arizona.
