Washeshu Peak is an 8,855-foot summit on the Sierra crest in northern California's Tahoe National Forest and the fourth-highest peak in Placer County. Its steep relief rises sharply above Whiskey Creek, and its runoff feeds both the Truckee and Rubicon River systems. The mountain borders the Granite Chief Wilderness, lies beside the Palisades Tahoe ski area, and supports ski runs on its north slope in an alpine climate shaped by Pacific storms. Its name, tied to the Wašišiw people of the Lake Tahoe area, was officially adopted in 2022 to replace an earlier offensive name. The summit had been artificially lowered in the 1960s for aviation navigation equipment.
