On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1985, a memorial was dedicated to the citizenry of Helen, Maryland, established in 1903, to perpetuate the town for which its veterans fought in war and to preserve its peace. It honors veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States from Helen and additional fellow veterans, listing their names, branches of service, ranks, and years of service from 1917 into the 2010s. The dedication was later made in honor of Jim E. Weber, Capt USMC (Ret), on November 11, 2018.
