Mandalay State Beach in Oxnard, California, protects a rare remnant of the undeveloped sand dunes and wetlands that once lined much of the Oxnard Plain coast. Established as a California state park in 1985, the 92-acre beach was set aside both to preserve public access and to safeguard the adjacent natural habitat. That role continues through protection of nesting snowy plovers and least terns. The park offers 2,920 feet of shoreline for day use without support facilities, while street parking and trail connections link it to the California Coastal Trail, nearby beaches, local neighborhoods, and routes extending toward Channel Islands Harbor.
