Cherokee County honors the men and women who fought for the cause of freedom and remembers those who paid the ultimate price or did not make it back home in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. The war memorial was the vision of Darrell Smith, a Cherokee County veteran of the Vietnam War.
